Make the most of energy and take part in the transition to electric mobility
EV chargers help you reduce your carbon footprint and your company meet carbon regulations. In addition, if you have an onsite solar self-consumption installation, adding an electric vehicle charger is a great way to make the most of any surplus energy produced. Furthermore, different subsidy programs exist for this type of renewable project, such as Spanish Government initiative plan RENOVE.
In order to install EV chargers, you should comply with all necessary electrical, safety, and space measures as laid out in Royal Decree 1053/2014 which includes new Complementary Technical Instructions (ITC) BT 52 "Installations for special purposes." You should have a dedicated off-road parking space with access to the mains electricity.

There are several types of chargers for electric vehicles. Residential chargers offer non-dedicated charging sockets with slow charging and low voltage, typically used for motorcycles and cars. For commercial or industrial use, the most common is semi-fast charging, which uses a smart wall or pole charging cable. There are also super-fast chargers, which tend to be more expensive.
There are both public and private charging points in Spain. According to Royal Decree 184/22, published in March 2022, recharging points should be provided in public access places, such as hospitals, supermarkets, shopping centers, hotels, and universities.
According to Royal Decree Law 29/2021, all non-residential buildings with more than 20 parking spaces must install at least one charging point for every 40 parking spaces. This means that business buildings, factories, public buildings, hospitals, supermarkets, shopping centers, hotels, universities, etc. should provide chargers.
