The first large-scale installation: a 4.41 MWp photovoltaic park in the Murcia Region

We have developed a 4.41 MWp photovoltaic park in Los Alcázares (Murcia), together with Ecosolar Levante. This is the first large-scale project that the company has started up in Spain after the merger of Soto Solar under the Ekhi brand.

The installation is located on an area of 9.6 hectares, where a total of 6,784 solar modules are located.

This photovoltaic plant will allow the generation of renewable energy that will be supplied through the Electricity Grid. Annually, it is expected to produce 8,705 MWh, which will contribute to avoid 2,376 tons of CO2 per year; the equivalent of driving a car more than 19 million kilometers in a year or planting 118,823 trees.

Currently, this photovoltaic project has completed its first phase. Later, when it is fully active, it will generate more than 12 MWp. The company also has a short-term growth target in the Region of Murcia, with a commitment to reach 20 MW of installed capacity.

The new photovoltaic park will contribute to the reduction of 2,376 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of planting 118,823 trees.

In addition to the ecological contribution, the Los Alcázares solar farm has allowed in its development and construction, the occupation of around 25 direct jobs and about twenty indirect jobs, half of which are of local origin, jobs that we are maintaining in the following phases, thus promoting the employability of the area.

"This project highlights Ekhi's vertical growth. After several successful cases in the development of photovoltaic installations for electro-intensive customers, this plant represents a step further and the consolidation of our company in the large-scale business, fulfilling our commitment to support the decarbonization of our country driven by the Spanish Government to achieve Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions neutrality in Spain by 2050".
