Ekhi has acquired a solar plant with a capacity of 11.3 megawatts (MW) in the town of Alcalá de Guadaira (Seville).

The photovoltaic installation, which is located 3.6 kilometers from Seville, occupies an area of 22 hectares and is equipped with Jinko trackers and modules, is expected to produce 22,460 MWh/year.

It will enable the supply of green electricity to 22,623 households in Alcalá de Guadaira; that is, almost 30% of the total number of homes in the municipality. In this way, it will contribute to avoid the emission of 6,131 tons ofCO2 annually.

Luis Fraga, Managing Director of Ekhi Large Scale, has highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition for the company, whose business is dual and is based on both the generation of greenfield photovoltaic projects and the acquisition of attractive projects in areas with high radiation.

"This transaction strengthens Ekhi's vertical growth to provide more value to other business lines, such as our trading company Ekhi power."

The transaction, which was completed at the end of October and was brokered by Carmen Mateas, founding managing partner of the law firm MateasAbogados, specialized in the telecommunications and energy sectors, was carried out through the acquisition of 100% of the project by Ekhi Energy, S.L. and Jinko Power Limited, which is the majority owner, Visasur Group and other shareholders.

Following the commissioning of the 4.41 MW photovoltaic park in Los Alcazares (Murcia), Ekhi continues to increase its project portfolio with this large-scale installation in Seville; a milestone is a further step in the company's commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of renewable energy in Spain.
